Tradition & Purity

In the vernacular it is described as a mountain blessing. It can be found in every medicine chest in the Sarn valley. The Sarn mountain pine has a cleansing and exhilarating effect. It stimulates the self-regulating function of your body and acts as an agent for the natural equilibrium of nature. Only in the Sarn valley are there such large expanses of wild mountain pines at an altitude of 1,800 to 2,400 metres above sea level on acid soil of volcanic origin. This stock of unique wild pines is appropriately nurtured in accordance with the methods of sustainable forest management (documented by the forestry authorities).

For a healthy sleep

Long December nights. The cold lets nature rest. The moon appears only as a sickle. At this time of year our Swiss stone pines are felled. For this reason it has been named moon wood. Its warmth and fragrance let everything rest. Panelling of local wood decorates the most beautiful Stuben (family rooms) in traditional farmhouses. Here the family sat together at the big table in order to pass away the long winter nights in the warm Stube. Swiss stone pine has been proven to foster healthy sleep and relaxation.

Moisturizing & Firming

Grape water was a highly prized household remedy as far back as the time of Christ and Pliny the Elder. The vintners of this region have likewise been long aware of the protective powers of this natural substance. In the spring, when the grapevines are pruned, this valuable liquid collects at the cut. In the vineyards of Manincore (which are run according to biodynamic principles) at Lake Kaltern / Lago di Caldaro in the south of South Tyrol, this “blood of the vine” is harvested by hand and collected in flasks. This noble liquid forces its way from the rootstock with tremendous energy, and is rich in minerals present in the soil. This biological essence with its precious vital substances and nutrients is the basis for the high-quality Trehs® line of facial products.

Hay baths have a long tradition in the meadows of South Tyrol – as long as the hay harvest, itself. In the evening, after the arduous mowing was done, the farmers would lie down in the hay while it was still warm from the sunshine. They found that the hay baths reduced fatigue and eased pains. Our ecologically certified mixture of Alpine hay and herbs is harvested from unfertilized Alpine meadows at an altitude of between 1,800 and 2,400 meters above sea-level. The low-nutrient meadows of the Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi – Europe’s largest high-altitude meadow – are located in the heart of the Dolomites (declared a Nature Heritage Site by UNESCO), and are mowed only every other year.
